10 Loomahat Resolutions for 2017

10 LoomaHat Resolutions for 2017

Resolutions 2017

According to my Google search Resolution is defined as: a firm decision to do or not to do something. Since this is December 31, 2016 I thought I would list my 10 resolutions for the Loomahat Brand 2017. Since you guys are the true recipients it’s only fair to share the projected journey.

Needless to say I’m only a human and so my list is fluid. Let’s just say that I will keep a copy in front of my computer until I have memorized it from top to bottom in the hope that I will stay focused and determined.

My List of Resolutions 2017:

It starts with one major four letter word – MORE

  1. More Weekend Videos: To Be Posted on Saturday or Sunday
  2. More Reviews: Products, Books, Blogs, Patterns
  3. More Stitch Patterns: At Least One per Month
  4. More Charity Posts: Highlight Good Solid Charitable Organizations
  5. More Technology: How to use Kindle and Apple for Your Knitting
  6. More Tips and Techniques: To Make Your Knitting Easier
  7. More Q & A : To Answer Those Questions That Have Been Bugging You All of Last Year.
  8. More Beginner Projects: Simple 1 or 2 Stitch Projects
  9. More Face on Camera Videos with Kamrin: I Want to Get to Know You Better and For You to Get to Know Us Better Too.
  10. More Personal: Let’s Get to Know Each Other.

It’s going to be up to you guys to keep me in check and hold me accountable. Let me know what you think of the list and should I consider a number 11.

YOUR List of Resolutions 2017:

As I get recommendations through out social media and this website from you for more resolutions I will list them here for everyone to see and comment. And, although my daughter thinks it’s a bad idea to say, the list is Fungible.  I’m more than willing to replace any of the above listed items except #5 and #8 and maybe #2.

So – what say you friend?

    Beautiful you and beautiful daughter.
I need a hard copy it your stitch patterns. Please print them out for me and sell them to me. I see you have the book on kindle I don’t know how to used these things. I’m lucky I’m doing this. Thi is as good as it gets.
But I want a print out of your stitch patterns book.
Por favor my niña, no se trastear con esta tecnología. Gracias. I knit for homeless men that live in a cat colony by the river bank in Paterson NJ. Is how I thank them for caring for the feral cats we feed.

    • Denise Canela January 11, 2017 at 10:38 pm

Eugenia – I don’t usually print the patterns – life is overwhelming and time is not in abundance – but go ahead and pay for one and then email me: denise@loomahat.com with the shipping instructions.
      Get the Pattern: Click HERE

  2. Jennifer Mundle January 8, 2017 at 5:30 pm

Happy Nee year! !I love all your tutorials. Do you have any that show how to convert regular knitting into loom knitting?

    • Denise Canela January 8, 2017 at 6:24 pm

Hi Jennifer – thanks for asking but nope – The Vintage Storehouse has a post and a video on the subject

      • Elida January 14, 2017 at 10:37 pm

        Hi Denise,
I’m new at loom knitting and two needles knitting, and I was looking for the same thing as Jenifer and I found in the website goodknitkisses.com under Resources what she is looking for. I just did a Google search”convert knitting into loom patterns” and you will see the explanation there and the link to the website. It even has a chart. I don’t understand it too well though lol because I’m learning, but I am looking at a lot of sites for help and to learn. I hope this helps!! 🙂

        • Denise Canela January 15, 2017 at 9:50 am

Hey Elida – THANK YOU !!!

      • Jennifer Murawski January 21, 2017 at 8:18 pm

        Hi Denise,
I love your videos and your website. My family is amazed at what I have made!! Could never have done it without your “guidance “!! I just modified one of your patterns to make a ponytail hat for my 13 year old and she loves it (as opposed to a messy bun hat.)

        • Denise Canela January 21, 2017 at 11:53 pm

Hi Jennifer – I’ve been thinking about that ponytail hat – I big time need more TIME 🙂

          • Jennifer Murawski January 22, 2017 at 9:38 am

I would gladly share what I did and I bet you could make it even better!

  3. Nancy Knoblich January 5, 2017 at 7:34 pm

Just want to say that I hope to do more loom knitting this year and your site is the first I go to if I get confused on a stitch. Hope you’re on the web for a long time.

  4. Jeannie January 5, 2017 at 5:28 pm

Happy New Year! I really enjoy your videos. Perhaps you can help me understand what I am doing wrong. First the good news: I have made 4 hats with the e-wrap successfully! Problem: I tried to make a hat using the U-wrap with 2 strands of medium weight yarn on a 36 peg loom, and it came out very small. What should I have done differently?
    Thanks for your help!

    • Denise Canela January 5, 2017 at 11:14 pm

Hi Jeannie – I did post an answer on Facebook – but just in case you didn’t see it or someone else has the same question – the UWrap is tighter and smaller then the eWrap. I recommend this post: Click HERE

  5. Ellen January 5, 2017 at 3:20 am

I’m a beginner and I find your tutorial the best and easy to follow… thank you so much. You guys are awesome..

  6. Julie January 4, 2017 at 8:25 am

I absolutely adore you both. Can’t wait for all your about to do in 2017. Happy New year.

    • Denise Canela January 4, 2017 at 11:26 pm

THANK YOU Julie – and Happy Happy New Year to you and your family

  7. AB January 3, 2017 at 9:50 pm

Hi. So a few months ago I made a cowl and a scarf on my loom. I come to note that after reading the directions on how to take them off the loom I now find that they r both coming apart. Wow! What happened? What a waste

    • Denise Canela January 3, 2017 at 11:18 pm

AB – I always suggest watching the Videos from beginning to the end before starting on the project. Not sure if you watched this very simple set video. : Click HERE

I have to think that you took the fabric off the loom before you had completed the bind-off process. Don’t give up – try again. I promise it will work this time.

  8. Michelle January 3, 2017 at 7:18 pm

i have never done well with resolutions i do much better with goals. this year my goals are to finish projects…to learn to crochet and to keep learning more stitch patterns and to write down the ones i come up with

    • Michelle January 4, 2017 at 5:49 pm

I need to add one more goal to learn and remember how to do the bamboo stitch

      • Denise Canela January 4, 2017 at 11:25 pm

Hey Michelle – I’m working on a hat pattern with that stitch. You will be able to add a check mark to the goal. Just stick with me friend.

  9. Gina January 3, 2017 at 3:05 pm

I am so thrilled you listed my suggestion. I just thought it would help you accomplish your list in many ways with a project that completes the year of whichever way you feel. I hope KBHL is used of course, but hopefully with the looms I have I should be able to follow along. Even though we do have the scary large AL I think a month square in various stitches we learn many things and have a sampler in the end.

  10. Helen Price January 3, 2017 at 10:38 am

Please don’t ever retire…I would be lost without you.

    • Denise Canela January 3, 2017 at 10:46 pm

You’re stuck with me for a while Helen 🙂

  11. Christine January 3, 2017 at 10:31 am

  12. Darlene January 3, 2017 at 9:32 am

I have been looking for the finger attachment / tool for the long loom. it is not sold in Canada, and I cannot find it on the internet either. Any suggestions?

  13. Melanie January 2, 2017 at 9:13 pm

Denise, you make THE BEST instructional videos! They are clear and easy to follow. Your verbal instructions are excellent as well.
I would love to see you do a tutorial on the bow stitch.
    Happy New Year?

    • Denise Canela January 2, 2017 at 10:21 pm

Thank you Melanie ! – Will definitely consider the Bow Stitch – Love love love it

  14. Christine M. January 2, 2017 at 8:53 pm

Hi! I would like to start off by saying that I learned how to loomknit by watching your videos. When I meet someone that is interested in starting or are stuck I always send them your way. I love how you make things easy to understand. Love the new years resolution and nice to see you and your daughter have a wonderful relationship. I love the idea of an app. There don’t see to be many apps out there for loomknitting. I would like to suggest the idea of a live video on Facebook. This way we could get to know you better which would help with your last resolution. Happy new years and thank you for everything you do.

    • Denise Canela January 3, 2017 at 11:23 pm

Thank you Christine – super sweet … Yep we’re considering Facebook live. 🙂 – Happy Happy New Year !

  15. Alina Lize January 2, 2017 at 7:54 pm

Thank you, Denise, for being a great teacher. I’m new at loom knitting and very much a novice. Love how you explain in detail and show close ups of the stitches. You’re definitely my go to for instructions. it’s nice seeing your face and not just your hands. Lol
Happy New Year to you and your family.

    • Denise Canela January 2, 2017 at 10:36 pm

You two are so funny…thanks for the smile you put on my face!

  21. Elida Landaburu January 2, 2017 at 2:09 pm

That’s so cute. I’m happy that you will do all that because I’m a beginner and my first projects were done with loom knitting, but I’m exploring also knitting with two needles, so I cannot make up my mind about which one I like the best. I starter knitting in Oct 2016, last year because I saw your videos, all of them are super easy, and I Love that now you put the instructions in the videos, which make them ever more super easy. Thanks for your hard work and please, keep inspiring us in 2017. Happy new year 2017!!! Hugs, Elida

  22. Marcia January 2, 2017 at 1:52 pm

I discovered your site when I started knitting with Passing the Hat, a charity that makes hats for cancer patients who have lost their hair. Many of us, including me, have experienced that, so we are blessed to be able to “pass a hat” to someone else.
Most of us use the circular loom, so your instructions are perfect.
Loved seeing your face in this video.

    • Denise Canela January 3, 2017 at 11:37 pm

Thank you Marcia ! I would love to hear more about Passing the Hat. Is this the charity: Click HERE

  23. Gail Decker January 2, 2017 at 12:02 pm

  24. Sherri Belcher January 2, 2017 at 10:33 am

Love this site, I’ve learned so much here and enjoyed hours of fun as a result.

  25. Jeri January 2, 2017 at 9:54 am

Great resolutions! I love your videos and turn to them often for help. Per your charitable resolution…I struck up a conversation with a lady while checking out at our local Dollar Tree. Turned out she worked at the senior center in town. I asked her about hats and scarves, and she said certainly. When I delivered them, she told me they could use children’s hats as well. Seems many of our seniors are raising their grandchildren. I use Scarlet Royals’ universal ribbed hat pattern. Basically three flat, two purl for 70 rows. I’m terrible at remembering to count so I measure 8-9 inches. Happy 2017 and thank you!

  26. Sharon Young January 2, 2017 at 9:11 am

Videos are a plus for patterns. Thank you for sharing. My biggest problem is not finishing projects. So I pick small projects and bounce around cause my attention span is short or I get bored. How do you get to the completed project?

    • Denise Canela January 2, 2017 at 12:48 pm

Sharon – I have ADD – I get distracted CONSTENTLY. This site and my Patreon patrons force me to stay focused and finish the project. DEADLINES – that’s what does it for me.

  27. Sharon Young January 2, 2017 at 9:06 am

I like be your patterns and videos even more. Cause I don’t do well with patterns alone. And you make it so easy to follow. Thank you for being here with us.

    • Denise Canela January 2, 2017 at 12:55 pm

Thank YOU for the Thank you Sharon !!! Happy New Year !

  28. Mary Fiedler January 2, 2017 at 8:32 am
