Here is my list of Top Ten Books. Great for all loom knitters from beginners to advanced, kids and adults. Note that These Books are not in order of preference. I like them for different reasons and have put them in alphabetical order by Author. All have 4 – 5 out of 5 star Amazon Ratings at the time of this article.

Learn to Knit on Long Looms by Anne Bipes

A picture is worth a thousand words. That’s not just a saying, it’s truth that is most appreciated when you’re trying to learn something new.  This book has good clear instructions with lots of nice good size pictures. Ms. Bipes has done a great job with her written tutorials. The projects are ones that are easy enough for beginners and practical. Things you can actually use immediately and pretty enough to make great gifts. The techniques included in the book will be useful way beyond the 17 projects.

Heads-up : It’s best to use the exact weight stated in the book when trying a new stitch. Unless you use the same loom and yarn some of the projects can look Very different and you would find yourself upset and frustrated.

Why I like This Book: The only book (at the time of this post) focused on the long loom knitting projects, 17 in total. The projects are nice and doable even by beginners.

Learn New Stitches on Circle Looms by Anne Bipes

This is a good book for learning basic stitches and a few really cool and unique stitch patterns. You may have heard of them before but the presentation here is excellent. The instructions are well written. The pictures are clear and nice sized.

 Loom Knitting for Little People  by Bethany A. Dailey

Toys and cloths for your little one. Two words come to mind when thinking about this book: whimsical and fun. With 30 adorable projects to choose from I’m certain you will find plenty to keep you happily busy.

Heads up on this book: There are some things that can be done by a beginner but a lot of the projects are best for intermediate or advanced loom knitters. But remember that you can always Youtube any unfamiliar stitch or technique.

Why I like this book: The projects are different then the ones found in most of the loom knitting books. Plus not just patterns but also techniques that will help you customize any of the projects and help you create some of your own. I also like that it focuses on making things for children. Nice gift for a new mom. Put a loom, baby yarn and the book in a pretty pink or blue gift basket for an awesome baby shower gift.

 Big Book of Loom Knitting by Kathy Norris

The reason I like this book is mostly because of the fun projects. Here is an example; I’m a big fan of the Sock Monkey and Kathy created a very unique version of that project by attaching little faces to the scarf. She takes a blanket and adds arms and puts a cap on gloves to make them finger-less when desired and mittens when you want. The ordinary made special.

Why I like this book: Ms. Norris takes a lot of ordinary and widely available projects and makes them very special. Sometimes just a bit of a corky twist to the basics makes blah – wow.

 Loom Knitting Socks: A Beginner’s Guide..  by Isela Phelps

This is a big book with a great variety of sock projects. Socks I had never heard of but are just to cool like pedi-socks and special sock just for yoga. The pictures are bright and beautiful and the instructions include stitch charts which are Awesome.

I Can’t Believe I’m Loom Knitting by Kathy Norris

 Great book for beginners willing to move forward. The project patterns alone are worth the money than add pictures to the text tutorial to make it a complete book of great loom knitting instructions.

The Lattice Pillow on the cover was what attracted me to this book. What a unique piece of art.

Loom Knitting Primer by Isela Phelps

 My all time FAVORITE ! ! ! and A BEST SELLER. This book is Loom Knitting 101 and way beyond. Explains from the most elementary technique to some of the most complex. A lot of resource information, definitions, and picture tutorials. Well worth the price.
