Belt Loop Hat

The Belt Loop Hat Video

Belt Loop Hat pattern was my favorite for 2012. The folks that visited this webpage and all my social sites seemed to feel the same way. I am very proud of my humble creation. The pattern did also bring on some confusion about how to finish this little beauty so I decided to made a video. Seemed like the right thing to do after promising several VERY special readers.

So Below is the Video. Hope it answers all your questions. Enjoy the extra lesson on how to make a Slouchy version of this hat. I thought it made for a really cool men’s hat.

As always I recommend that you print the pattern and then watch the video from beginning to the end before starting the project. This makes the pattern easier to understand. You will feel more comfortable and confident.

Hi Denise, I JUST finished this hat and am in love with it! I tried to post a pic but couldn’t. Your teaching method is perfect for me. I now search loomahat before trying anywhere else for ideas. I just wanted to thank YOU for taking the time to post these videos!!

I also love your videos. Thank you so much for making them. I recently made two of your belt loop hat beanies, I can see why its one of your favorites. I’m making these hats in our favorite college football team colors. I had a lot of problems with the yarn twisting and tangling up. I brought some super bulky 6 yarn to try to make the hat with just one strand of yarn. Then I realized I probably couldnt because I wouldnt be able to go by the numbers in your pattern. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. I tried using one skein of yarn like you did in your video it tangled up so but not like using two skeins of yarn. I’m afraid if I use the numbers in the pattern my finished project would be really big.

Hi Karen, use the #5 Chunky. It’s equal to the 2 strands of #4 Worsted. You can follow the pattern as is.
      Hope the helps,
      denise

I have learned so much from your videos. Thank you. I still haven’t got the hang of the hats, I get a seam like on them where I start at. I haven’t given up yet.

i recently saw a woman working a round loom and asked about it and got really interested (who wouldnt, i know) so hubby bought me a set this past Christmas. i have been learning (trying) with little success. then i found your youtube that explained the difference between knit and purl (thank you for that, very good info, well explained) so i had to pop over to see your site. SOOOO glad i did. you offer so many free patterns that i am SOOOO very grateful to find, not really knowing what to do with my new looms before haha im sure you remember those days 🙂 well i had to pop in and let you know that this will be my go to site. i love that you share so generously and again, thank you!!! <3
