The Supplies for the Loom Knit Boot Cuffs Project

Loom: Any small round loom. I used the 24-peg small Knifty Knitter – the 31-peg medium works well for a wider looser cut.

Yarn: Worsted weight, Chunky, or Super Bulky. I used Caron Simply Soft in Blue Mint in Video and Chocolate in picture

Hooks: Loom knitting hook and Crochet

The Pattern: Loom Knit Boot Cuffs

Row 1: Knit

Row 2: Purl

Repeat Row 1 and Row 2 – Four more times.  (Total of 10 Rows)

Decorate your Loom Knit Boot Cuffs with Pins, Tassles, Pom Pom

How to Make Tiny Tassels

1. With the yarn of your choice – wrap 4 fingers at least 10 Times

2. Push a crochet hook through all the loops

3. With the crochet hook – Pull the loops off your fingers but leave them on the hook.

4. Wrap a separate string through the top of the loops – and tie it

5. Tie another string around the middle of the loops (forms something like a little head)

6. Cut the loops on the bottom – cut in desired shape (square or pointed)

Use the top string to attach the tassel to your loom knit boot cuffs

This is great! My granddaughter (7) got a round loom set for her birthday. I am learning how to use looms, so I can teach her… and probably doing the bind-offs for now. As a beginner, she loves the e-wrap knit, of course! I have crocheted since my grandmother taught me when I was 9. I used a round loom in my teens but of course, am very rusty. Lovely videos!

I have made 2 pairs of these a small set and the larger set. I just love how easy they come together. Your video is exquisite.

Debbie – now that you’re an expert – try some with different stitches – this project is great for testing some favorites.

In the top it states the pink is just e wrap but the top of the cuff looks different than e wrap. Could you explain that maybe? I like that pattern and would like to try that.

    • Denise Canela January 23, 2015 at 6:19 am

There are several versions of the Knit Stitch – flat, u-wrap, e-wrap and the true stitch. On the brown cuff I used a u-wrap knit stitch and a purl to create the garter stitch… on the pink cuff I used the e-wrap. That is the only differance because the rest of the pattern calls for an e-wrap.. Here is a helpful video: Click HERE

hi and thank you for your wonderful video. you are very easy to listen to and give great instructions. i just have a couple of questions. first, no matter what i try, my bind off is much too tight. i have tried adding a crochet stitch between the stitches when i bind off, but even that isn’t giving me the stretch i need for the boot cuffs. also, where can i find a loom with 31 pegs? my next size up from 24 is 36 and that would be too big! thanks again!

I have just completed one of a set and my daughter tried it on, She could barely get over her foot, definitely will not fit with tall boots, should I have used the 31 peg vs 24 peg?

    • Denise Canela January 20, 2015 at 7:54 am

      Hi Lori,
Yes, in some cases it’s best to use the 31 peg. My daughter is thin by she likes everything loose so for her I would use the 31 peg and increase the number of rows to make the cuff longer .
