I am officially obsessed with this oversized cowl and the Purl in 8 stitch by Stephanie May aka Loomatic Fridge. I think it looks great in every color and on everybody. If you know me, you know I love unisex projects. That makes gift giving a breeze.
I do believe the yarn is key to accomplishing the look. My husband picked this particular yarn and I believe it was the best choice. A combination of wool and acrylic makes it the best of luxury and economics. By the way, It’s chunky and soft, two qualities you want from winter wear.
As for the pattern, it is not difficult. In fact, once I got going, I found it very therapeutic. I was even able to catch up on some of my favorite YouTube creators while I finished the project.

This is an easy rib stitch hat pattern. The bulky yarn makes it perfect to wear in the winter season. The plus side of the design is that it will work will for any member of the family. Even those that are hard to please. You can wear it like a brimless slouchy or a beanie with a brim.

I made these teeny, tiny hats for my Fuzzy Dots because I had a few pictures in mind and I thought they would look more fun wearing them. Since then, I have been asked many times for the pattern. I decided it was time to write one and film a video to go with it.

I saw a discussion on Knitting Paradise several years ago about whether Loom knitting should be considered as real knitting. It was quite interesting to me although I must say that it was not the first time I had heard a statement of that sort.

Peggy, a sweet supporter of Loomahat.com had requested a new stitch pattern for hats and scarves. I have wanted to say thank you to her in a very special way for such a long time. I’m super happy to do that with this pattern. The Large Eyelet Rib stitch pattern was a beast for me to figure out. I thought it would be quick and easy, but because I wanted to use a large gauge loom things got complicated. Good thing is that I got it figured out, it’s now become a favorite because it really is an easy pattern.
One of it’s best features is that the results work well for men and women. This is important for people who knit for charity because they have no idea who is getting your gift.

I love an easy brimless hat with a nice, neat edge as much as the next guy. It’s even better when I can make it work using my large gauge loom because I can finish faster. Here is a pattern with a stretchy stitch that bounces back and fits almost anyone. Works for both men and women so it makes it a great project for charities.The video is only 12 minutes from beginning to end so it doesn’t require a lot a time to watch it.
It’s called the Bottom Up hat because you knit the crown first which is different from the average loom knit hat pattern. You usually knit the brim first and end the project with the top of the hat. I guess you can also call it an upside down hat.
They are supper cool, tiny stress balls that I call Fuzzy Dots. So soft and really cute. Petting them make even the toughest day seem better.
It’s a quick project you can make with scrap yarn. Add a little card and your will make someones day a lot brighter. I made one and added a large jump-ring, and a key-ring for my daughter.

The Japanese Origami Market Bag is an easy loom knitting pattern. It does need a little bit of basic sewing. This means you get to use up some of that scarp yarn and make a family or friend very happy. I always love finding scrap yarn projects that are fun to make and fun to give. A loom knit poncho with a lacy stitch is perfect for summer if you knit using light weight yarn. The great thing is that you can use the same pattern for the winter. All you need to do is use a chunky yarn. Both will look beautiful.
