Juanitas Minion a Cute Free Pattern

Loom Knit Minion Pattern

Loom Knit Minion

Some people just got it like that. They capture a concept and run with it. Juanita Husselmann followed a few patterns and within no time she was creating her own. As if that wasn’t enough she goes and designs a pattern for my favorite tiny super heroes, the Minions. They’re yellow (my favorite color), talk baby gibberish, they’re short, chubby and wear fashion forward overalls, I just love them.

Below is her Juanita’s free pattern. Very basic and easy to follow. If you want a printable PDF just click the link. This is her first so I thank her for allowing me to share with my Loomahat.com readers who I know will be kind, grateful and encouraging as always, to this beautiful young lady.

Feel free to leave comments and questions for Juanita or I in the comment section below the post.

Multiples in Knitting a Quick Video Tutorial

Understanding Multiples in Knitting Patterns

Multiples in knitting

Multiples in Knitting patterns were a total mystery to me when I first started loom knitting. The little plus sign after the multiples was even more confusing. I tried reading blog post after blog post but just the sheer number of words was overwhelming.

Making it simple for my readers was the objective. Besides, so many other folks have already done extremely well explaining this in writing that instead of reinventing the wheel, I made a short video.

Mock Mesh Shawl Pattern Video

Loom Knit the Mock Mesh Shawl

Mock Mesh Shawl

The way you decide to wear the Mock Mesh Shawl it can create more warmth or more elegance. If you wrap it several times around your neck and chest you will be nice and warm. If you drape it loosely it will open up the stitch and allow the breeze through the fabric. But the best part of this shawl is that it will look just as good over a simple t-shirt as it would over a little black evening dress.

The pattern is a simple one and follows the stitch pattern that was posted HERE. Below is a step by step video tutorial for us visual learners.  Hope you guys like it .

Knotted Fringe Instructions and Video

How to Make Knotted Fringe

Knotted Fringe

Knotted Fringe gives your project a classier more upscale look. These are often added to shawls, purses and even blankets and bed spreads. In Indian culture  it’s called Kuchu or Kuchchu and you will often see them on Sarees, the traditional highly decorative dress.

I created this under 5 minute video to show you how to add the technique quickly and easily. For those of you that like written instructions, you will find them below.

The Purple Loom Review and Giveaway

The Purple Loom Replacement by CinDwood

Purple loom

I have always loved the purple loom by Knifty Knitter. Of all the circular hat looms it was the perfect one. It was hard to find when Provo Craft was actually distributing the Knifty Knitter product. I must admit that finding it now is close to impossible. It pains me to the core considering the great design.

Thank God that CinDwood has created a replacement. I am in love. Let’s look at just three of the many reasons and give you a chance to win your own.

Mock Mesh Stitch Tutorial

Mock Mesh Stitch on a Knitting Loom

Mesh Stitch

The Mock Mesh Stitch pattern is an easy lace stitch that is simple enough for beginners. It can be a bit tricky at first but once you get the concept you’re on your way. As always this post includes text, pictures and a video tutorial.

During my research I came across a loom knit version by Suz from MemoirsYarnAholic.blogspot.com . She created her version of the stitch by starting the pattern like a mock crochet and then knitting every other stitch. I liked the idea but decided I would tweak the pattern and the name. Undo a Stitch – Remount a Loop

How to Undo a Stitch on a Knitting Loom

Undo a stitch

So you made a mistake and need to undo a stitch and remount the previous loom.  Here is a basic instructional easy enough for the beginner. Keep in mind that I’m explaining what I do on my looms. I prefer to knit on round looms or single rake which means only one side of the long loom. If you knit with a double rake loom this information may be helpful but this is not per-say your tutorial.

Although almost synonymous, the technique is not frogging (frogs say, “rip it, rip it”) where pull (rip) the stitches out. A better term for what is being demonstrated here is tink the word knit spelled backward. You work your way back un-knitting the stitches.

Let me show you how it’s done.

Waste Yarn Cast-on for Loom Knitters

Waste Yarn Cast on

Waste Yarn Cast on

You will find that some patterns ask for the Waste Yarn Cast on method. This is sometimes referred to as provisional cast-on and that is exactly what it is, it’s temporary. You mount the waste yarn first to make it the recipient of your loose loops so that you can remove it later and have your “good” yarn available for a cast-off that matches your other end. If you’re confused not to worry I will explain and demonstrate.

Google defines provisional: arranged or existing for the present, possibly to be changed later. Well, no maybes. In this cast it is being changed for sure.

Below are the written instructions with pictures and step by step video.

Its no secret that China is the worlds factory. For many years, Western countries have outsourced manufacturing jobs to China in order to save money and reduce their production costs. But how does this affect products made for Canadians? The answer is simple: it doesnt. Canada imports over $30 billion worth of goods from China every year from wethenorth darknet , making them our number one trading partner by a wide margin. Despite being so reliant on Chinese imports, there are virtually no safety standards enforced by the Canadian government. This means that most imported goods are not tested or regulated before they hit store shelves here at home - which can be dangerous for unsuspecting consumers who may accidentally purchase these unsafe products without knowing any better! Well talk more about.
