People like Nancy are the reason I love to work on this website. Loom knitting and charity work are my passion. Finding ways to encourage and supply those that share my devotion for this endeavor is very important and rewarding to me. Yarn Sleeve – 3 Brand Product Review

Yarn Sleeve also known as a Yarn Bra or Tender

I had never heard of a yarn sleeve until a few weeks ago now every one of my skeins is sporting a new bra. The K1C2 brand package says, “Prevent unruly tangles and keep slippery yarns under control.” I so totally agree, that is exactly what this product does.

It’s funny that they seem them more like little girdles then sleeves or a bras. Maybe its the little curve that forms in the middle of your yarn. What ever the case it’s settled that I can no longer live without God, a cell phone, a computer, my adult sippy cup or a yarn sleeve , but not necessarily in that order except for God, he’s always first.

There are several brands on the market. I chose three to try. They are listed in order of preference, with my very, very favorite being last. This is a strategic layout to make sure you make it to the end of my post. I don’t want you to miss anything. I only do that to people I love.

This textured stripes square Free Pattern is for an 8×8 inch or 20×20 cm square. It is perfect for a dishcloth, washcloth, blanket, lapghan or afghan. Put enough of them together and you can make yourself a very nice bedspread. Below the post is chart to help with sizes and number of squares for your project. A short video tutorial coming soon will make it even easier to learn.

It is made up of two simple stitches a knit and a purl. Make note of the fact that it is a Rib Stitch pattern and so it has an elastic quality.

Celtic Knot Stitch for the Loom

The Celtic Knot has a very spiritual meaning even for some people today. The understanding is that there is no beginning or end it goes on eternally like nature. For me it’s not that serious I just see something beautiful. I am so happy that I basically bumped into this stitch and that I have a venue where I can share it.

This is the second stitch in a series the Knittingboard.com blog calls Stitchlogy. I love the look you get with this technique. I can’t help but think of two words Fun and Happy. I’ve had my eye on some winter gear that screamed for some puff. The designer truly came through with this one.

The cover says 10 Easy Projects. Based on the average cost of the book that adds up to $1.00 per project. But you have to factor in the statement Learn to Knit on Circle Looms. So the idea is that with this book you will learn to knit on round looms and as a bonus you actually get to make lots of useful items.

I thought about a few questions as I reviewed this loom knitting book. Is it worth your $10.00 if you’re a true beginner? Can you learn with just this book or will you need other resources? If you already know how to loom knit on circle loom are the patterns still worth the expense ? Is it readily available? Can I get it on my tablet?
