Textured Stripes Square

This textured stripes square Free Pattern is for an 8×8 inch or 20×20 cm square. It is perfect for a dishcloth, washcloth, blanket, lapghan or afghan. Put enough of them together and you can make yourself a very nice bedspread. Below the post is chart to help with sizes and number of squares for your project. A short video tutorial coming soon will make it even easier to learn.

It is made up of two simple stitches a knit and a purl. Make note of the fact that it is a Rib Stitch pattern and so it has an elastic quality.

Celtic Knot Stitch for the Loom

The Celtic Knot has a very spiritual meaning even for some people today. The understanding is that there is no beginning or end it goes on eternally like nature. For me it’s not that serious I just see something beautiful. I am so happy that I basically bumped into this stitch and that I have a venue where I can share it.

So the idea is that with this book you will learn to knit on round looms and as a bonus you actually get to make lots of useful items.

I thought about a few questions as I reviewed this loom knitting book. Is it worth your $10.00 if you’re a true beginner? Can you learn with just this book or will you need other resources? I love giving stuff away! It’s just my nature, plus product reviews make you and I better consumers and as a result better loom knitters.

Knitting with One Hand

Kari King made a short video on how to loom knit a dog sweater.

Her intention wasn’t to wow us with her ability to do this using only one hand but if you read the comments under the video you will see that she did just that.

I was doing some research on how to loom knit a dog sweater. I live in Florida and it barely ever gets cold here except for a short spell at the beginning of the year. Loom Knit Giraffe

Davy Mitchell has taken up loom knitting and now he is LoomKnitterDude.blogspot.com. I’m so glad he did because he created the cutest little Loom Knit Giraffe ever. His simple technique gave me the base for some great ideas for other zoo and farm animals. I’m thinking horses and zebras just to name a few.

It is pretty easy to do but I would not recommend it for a True beginner. You will need some knowledge of loom knitting since it’s more of an instructional tutorial than an actual pattern.

If you passed that first test you’re ready to move on with the big boys and you little ones too.
