Loom Knit Minion Pattern

Some people just got it like that. They capture a concept and run with it. Juanita Husselmann followed a few patterns and within no time she was creating her own. As if that wasn’t enough she goes and designs a pattern for my favorite tiny super heroes, the Minions. They’re yellow (my favorite color), talk baby gibberish, they’re short, chubby and wear fashion forward overalls, I just love them.

The way you decide to wear the Mock Mesh Shawl it can create more warmth or more elegance. If you wrap it several times around your neck and chest you will be nice and warm. If you drape it loosely it will open up the stitch and allow the breeze through the fabric. But the best part of this shawl is that it will look just as good over a simple t-shirt as it would over a little black evening dress.

The Open Weave Stitch is a mix between a basket weave and a lace. Great texture, perfect without being closed and dense. Ideal for the warmer spring and summer weather. Undo a Stitch – Remount a Loop

How to Undo a Stitch on a Knitting Loom

So you made a mistake and need to undo a stitch and remount the previous loom. Here is a basic instructional easy enough for the beginner. Keep in mind that I’m explaining what I do on my looms. I prefer to knit on round looms or single rake which means only one side of the long loom. If you knit with a double rake loom this information may be helpful but this is not per-say your tutorial.

Although almost synonymous, the technique is not frogging (frogs say, “rip it, rip it”) where pull (rip) the stitches out. A better term for what is being demonstrated here is tink the word knit spelled backward. You work your way back un-knitting the stitches.

Waste Yarn Cast on

You will find that some patterns ask for the Waste Yarn Cast on method. This is sometimes referred to as provisional cast-on and that is exactly what it is, it’s temporary. You mount the waste yarn first to make it the recipient of your loose loops so that you can remove it later and have your “good” yarn available for a cast-off that matches your other end. If you’re confused not to worry I will explain and demonstrate.

Google defines provisional: arranged or existing for the present, possibly to be changed later. Well, no maybes. In this cast it is being changed for sure.
