The Diagonal Moss Stripe Stitch on a Knitting Loom

The Diagonal Moss Stripe stitch is all about texture, texture, texture ! That is always a winner for me. Especially one that only needs me to use knits and purls. Nothing fancy.

Knits and purls done on a large gauge loom with just one strand of worsted weight yarn. But no worries if you like small gauge looms because any loom you have on hand will work well with this baby.

Loom Knit the Cuddly Monster on a Large Loom

A sweet friend asked me to design a weighted toy for her little girl who suffers from depression. I had been researching toy monsters within that same week. Since I know there is no such thing as coincidence, now there is a pattern and video for Cuddly Monster.

Why a weighted toy? Sarah’s Cuddly Monster is a weighted toy to help those suffering from loneliness, depression, anxiety or any form of mental illness. My hope is that it will be one tool that can be used in the process of self-healing and restoration. Read her story at the end of the post.

10 Things You Need to Know About the S Loom

Here is a list of things I think you should consider before using the S loom. It’s know by many names including a blanket, afghan, Serenity and an 8 Shape loom.

This has many characteristics that are very different from the regular round or long looms so the list might also help you bring together the supplies you will need to knit the project. Also when you know the common mistakes people make with this tool, you’re less likely to make them.

Seed and Purl Basketweave Stitch on Any Loom

The Seed and Purl Basketweave is a curvy twist on the classical version. One square pulls and the other pushes. A sort of yin and yang. You get lots of texture with simple knits and purls. I think it would make a fabulous scarf.

Loom Knit a the Doily with Your Round Loom

Wow !!! Here is a pattern you can use in soooOOOOOooo many different ways. Lets start with just a few; as a pot protector, a dish liner, a wash/dish cloth, table setting placemats with matching coasters, aa a granny circle, project embellishments, a doll skirt, and even doilies. And if you don’t connect the circle you can use it like a lace collar. I’m so loving it !

Another great feature of this project, the smaller ones knit up fast because of the lacey sections. More importantly, unlike most of my designs, this one includes four different sizes. So, if you have the large gauge set of looms, the pattern includes one for each loom. That’s four patterns in one.

Mock Honeycomb with Purl Stitch Pattern Video

Loom Knit Mock Honeycomb Stitch

Something textured, something fun, something you can use to make the perfect mermaid blanket. It’s the Mock Honeycomb with purls stitch pattern also known as the Mermaid Stitch. And yes, there is one without purls that looks different but I wanted the purl version to keep the fabric flat and more textured. Because you can never have too much texture.

One thing for sure, it is not reversible, at all. See the pic below. It barely shows anything but I feel that the front side is so cool that I don’t mind the back side.

The Easier Version of the Bubble Stitch

This Easy version of the Bubble Stitch can be done by anyone. The stitches might sound difficult but I promise, it is not. Just four stitches in a row, over 12 rows and you have your bubble. I take you step by step with my video tutorial, so no worries.

Textured Button in a Square Stitch on a Knitting Loom

It’s the loom knit, Button in a Square stitch pattern. Another one that I totally love for scarves and blankets. It looks great on the front and the reverse side.

I knit the swatch on a large gauge loom but it will also work great on small gauge. I used a single strand of worsted weight yarn. It was very easy, with just knits and purls. Best of all it is nicely textured.

Have you ever heard of an Axolotl? Until late this year I had no idea they existed. Once I saw one – I had to make one. They are sooOOoo funny looking that they’re super cute. Now there’s a step by step video totural and a pattern that includes a bonus adoption certificate to make gift giving even more fun.

I love how toys are a great gift for both kids and adults. Ask any teenager or young about an Axolotl and and you’ll see what I mean. Make one in their favorite color, and a tag and you’ll get loads of hug and kisses. I promise!

Toilet Paper Cover Cozey on a Round Loom

I was asked to design a toilet paper cover by several patrons. I am always ready to oblige friend and family. Plus I’ve wanted covers for my own home for years. Unfortunately designing usually takes me longer then I expect or plan for so I thank you for your patience and I hope you like the project.

As always, I’ve gone through my checklist. It was done in a few hours, on a 36-peg large gauge loom, single strand, with scrap yarn, with a step by step video tutorial. Needless to say, that I was super happy about all the features. So in short; quick, easy, pretty and inexpensive.

There are two versions in the pattern. One is more textured and has an opening on the top. The other is less textured and closed on the top. You can knit either one or a combination of the two.

Loom Knit Wavy Rib Stitch

A Great and Weird Version of the Rib Stitch

I love it when you get a lot of texture out of just knits and purls and this one is one of those stitch patterns. Highly textured, super easy to knit up.

This was a fun stitch to translate but, here is the weird part that I could not fix; the “waves” you see only show up nicely on the reverse side of the fabric. In other words. what I am calling the reverse side is actually the side you are knitting. It is the front of the fabric, what you see in the picture below. The pattern I want you to have is on the backside of this 2×4 rib stitch that is actually a basketweave.

Keep that in mind as you knit. Cus, I don’t want you to blow a fuse. : )
